Memphis born, Orlando led, now residing in DC, Rhyane knows the ins and outs of Florida political organizing as her start in Black Voters Matter was as the Florida State Organizing Manager in 2020 when a certain scruffy beard gentleman was introduced to the organizing field as the North FL Regional Organizer for BVM.
In our "What We Talm Bout" segment, we speak on the recently approved 2024 Florida ballot initiatives, which will be on the ballot in November. Amendment 3 will bring recreational Marijuana to the state, while Amendment 4 will protect a woman's right to choose in this state. We discuss how to organize around those amendments in Black communities across the state. We then get into the work we did in 2020 as organizers in Florida for Black Voters Matter, and how do we carry that momentum into this crucial election year.
