We’re back with a new podcast episode! We’re taking the time to speak to Dr. Obi Umunna, the captain of the newly Ken Knight Awards. The second annual event will be happening on July 29th, 2021, and the purpose of the awards show is to celebrate black media in Jacksonville, Florida.
‘Black media is so important’, says Umunna. We need to tell our stories, and sometimes, it isn’t told from the right perspectives, and sometimes you need a black voice to do that. So that’s why we created this awards, to honor those people that have been doing that’.
